What is the difference between a Deposit and an Invoice? A Deposit is paid in advance of work performed, and it is held in trust by us until it’s earned. If you’re not sure, contact us at clientsupport@stake.law or call your relationship attorney.
Can I get a refund? Yes. If we have not started work on your project, you will receive a full refund. If we have started work, you will receive a refund of all unearned funds. However, we will only refund funds which have cleared in our accounts per our Engagement Terms, with no exceptions.
Can I pay by wire or ACH? Yes. Please request instructions by emailing us at clientsupport@stake.law. Please also note that the e-check option utilizes ACH.
Can I pay by paper check? Yes. Please make checks out to Mertzlufft Law PLLC, note your payment reference number in the memo line, and send to:

When does our engagement start? For statements of work, orders, and engagements requiring a deposit, our engagement for that statement of work, order, or engagement starts after (1) both you and Stake approve the statement of work, order, or engagement and (2) Stake receives cleared payment of any required deposit.
